Health & Safety Alert! is a mini audit bolt on to your current stocktakes We work with you, as a team, to generate a question bank that forms the backbone of your Alert mini audits. These should cover all high and medium risk areas of your business. We suggest 50/50 split where half of the questions are core and permanent to each Alert audit, the other half being surprise questions to counter your staff learning the questions and preparing for the audits. It is these questions that are driven by you, making this service personal to your business health and safety goals. We ask these questions at each of your stocktakes across an agreed period, which flags up non-compliance. We then action the outcomes on a rolling basis helping to keep your business safe from prosecution.
Core questions should typically be issues that you know are a problem for you and areas that you want to monitor regularly, e.g. date coding, standards of cleanliness, cross contamination. When these areas are audited on each Alert, we can also carry out analysis on them over time to see whether the sites are making improvements.
The current core Alert question bank covers a mix of food safety, health and safety and fire safety but we can create Alert Audits to cover just one of these areas or to incorporate client-specific items e.g. in-house documentation, company policy, front-of-house standards.
The results of the individual Alert audits are fed back to the site at the time of the audit and to Head Office on the same day. At the end of each audit round, typically each month, a set of management reports are produced to show the performance across the entire estate, league tables, most common non-compliances, core question trends, etc.
The Alert programme also incorporates one full audit per annum which produces a summary percentage score and a non-compliance action plan for each site. It also identifies potential hazards, assess the level of current control measures and advise on any immediate areas of risk, in support of the more regular Alert! activity.
Again, management reports are produced at the end of the full audit round.
